Fishing on Green River LakeGreen River Lake is a haven for the water sport and fishing enthusiast as well as the vacationer that just wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  This 8,210 acre lake offers over 33 miles of picture perfect water lying between 250 miles of shoreline. With an average depth of 50 feet and 1 mile across at its widest point, it’s just perfect for fishing, skiing and boating.

Both the avid angler and the beginning fisherman will enjoy the challenge of fishing for bluegill, crappie, muskie, walleye, large mouth, small mouth, and Kentucky (spotted) bass.

Public fishing piers are located at Pier 1 and the Smith Ridge Recreation Area. Pikes Ridge Campground also has a fishing pier but is for campers use only. You’ll also have access to 10 paved boat ramps.

Green River is one of the best small mouth & rock bass fishing destinations in KY.  Fishing below the dam during winter & early spring also affords excellent walleye, sauger and muskie fishing as well. The Green River harbors one of the most diverse assemblages of fish and freshwater mussels in the United States. More than 150 fish species and 70 mussel species have been found in the river.

There are two fishing lakes. One is of 1.5 acre trophy size catch and release catfish that weigh up to 60 pounds, while the other is a 3 area lake stocked four times a week with farm raised fish that weigh 2 to 3 pound. No fishing license required. Our lakes are in a country setting for a restful, fun, family experience.  We have a full size air-conditioned Bait, Tackle and Snack Store that has a full line of bait and tackle for the Catfish fisherman. All kids 12 years and under fish on their parent’s ticket for FREE. Their fish count against Dad’s or Mom’s limit.

A paved boat launch ramp is provided at this 36 acre fishing lake stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, warmouth, white crappie, redear and channel catfish (electric motors only). Anglers will enjoy fishing from the shore. Swimming is not permitted.
